I believe that the student, parent and teacher are all responsible for student learning. The student has to be the most responsible in the long run but the facilitators are the parent and teacher.
The teacher is responsible for teaching the student the required information for learning at school. They should also teach techniques and methods of proper learning so that the student can take the information home and adequately adapt it at home.
The parent should encourage and allow for proper studying and learning in the house. Providing a quiet and supportive environment for the child to do homework and ask questions. There is a difference between allowing a child to learn on their own but with help and doing the work for them. By allowing your child to do independent work but to facilitate them when they are struggling is crucial.
In the end the student is responsible for using these facilitators to the fullest and allowing themselves to be open to learning from their educators.
