If my employer gave me $2,000 to spend on new technology in a physical therapy setting, I would choose to use it on 10 new mats, 5 Bosu balance trainers, 44 regular flex bands, 44 extra strength flex bands, and 5 bolsters. The total would be $1,994.10. My justification for buying these new mats, Bosu balance trainers, flex bands, and bolsters because these materials are used constantly in physical therapy and can get old or damaged very quickly. Getting these items could allow me to do things that I couldn't before because before getting the $2,000 from my employer, I may have not had enough mats or other materials for all of the patients present during a session. For example, if I only had 2 clean and undamaged mats, but 3 patients who had appointments at a certain time, only 2 of the patients would get to use the mats at a time. Because these items are used so often, having more can ensure that more than one patient can use them at a time. In getting these new items, I will know that each client that comes in will have new, clean, and up to date equipment. I also decided to purchase less expensive materials because a lot of the materials used in physical therapy, such as E-stim machines, are very expensive, such that $2,000 would not cover it. Therefore, I would buy less expensive items so that I could continue to save for such equipment.

I like that you aren't trying to buy new expensive technology, but instead buying high quantities of things you know that you will need. Most exercises in physical therapy don't involved technology, so buying something as simple as a mat, or a Bosu will be very beneficial to your patients.
