Technology in P. E. and Coaching

I believe that technology will play a major role in teaching and coaching when I get older.  The vast amount of technologies that are available continues to grow.  I believe that by using these technologies, both teachers and students will benefit and have a deeper understanding of the activities they participate in.
In teaching, there are a couple technologies that I would use to help my students grasp concepts better.  The first would be the use of a projector and a laptop.  This would be especially useful when demonstrating proper techniques for the activities.  All students learn differently, and it would be beneficial to some students to visualize what they have to do before actually completing an activity.  Another reason a projector and a laptop would be useful is because the students can do presentations to the class and actually understand the reasons for participating in an activity rather than just doing it.  The second technology that I would use in my class would be a heart rate monitor.  This will allow students to track their cardio activity not only throughout an individual class, but also throughout the weeks, months, and entirety of the class.
In coaching, there are so many technologies that can be used.  I would use machines to assist players completing tasks when they want to put extra work in and I would also use film breakdown before and after games to not only prepare for opponents, but also critique and examine our own performances on the court.  By doing this, my team will not only be better players because they can put in work on their own time, but will also be able to visualize the things they did correctly and the things they did wrong, and be able to correct or improve upon them for the future.
I chose these technologies specifically because they all allow for students to get better at what they do.  By watching and doing presentations, students will learn how to prepare for things correctly.  By using a heart rate monitor, students can track progress and improvement.  By using machines and watching film, students improve their individual skills and make the team better overall.  By using these technologies, students not only improve on the task at hand, but also gain knowledge to complete tasks that will come about later in life.
