I would spend $1,150.00 on a projector and screen. Given the projector would connect to the three year old computer, this would prove as a valuable resource. As an educator, it is important to have good examples of the activities the students are going to participate in. I personally can not give excellent examples for all of these tasks. This projector will allow me to show the students examples of different tasks at full speed and even pause the task and break down. The projector will give the students a better visual on several of the activities they will participate in. I believe a portable projector screen is a perfect fit for a physical education setting.
I would also but a $600.00 camcorder. This will allow me to videotape the students performing different tasks. It is always helpful for students to be able to see themselves performing the activities. Students’ technique is always being corrected during P.E. class. It is better for the students to see what they are doing wrong rather than just being told what they are doing wrong. This will give the students a better idea on how to correct their mistakes. Other than helping the students, this will help me as a teacher grow. It will let me notice what I need to improve on during each lesson.
With the remaining $250.00, I would buy 5 heart rate monitors for my class. Given this is not enough for everyone in the class to have, each student will be able to use one at least once per week. The heart rate monitors will make sure the students stay active. In Physical Education classes, it is very difficult to focus on every student to make sure they are active. The heart rate monitors will allow me, as a teacher, to know whether the students are being physically active or not. With this new technology, the students will be more active and be more focused throughout the class period.

Good ideas Josh. I also would buy the projector and HR monitors. The projector provides a bigger means to view and display information within the classroom which helps a lot. I didn't think aboout buying a camera. This would really prove useful in providing myself as well as students feedback. However, it would be a pain to continously hook up a 3 year old desktop computer to a projector. Thats one of the reasons I also purchased a tablet PC.
