$2,000 Budget

I wish to buy a set of 50 Polar Heart Rate Monitors for my class. (http://www.heartratemonitorsusa.com/heartratemonitor-viewall.html?gclid=CPSfzOOehaUCFSMd5wodmlcMNw) The total cost of these would be about $1,900. There are many possibilities of ways to spend this money but after much thought I have determined that the purchase of these heart rate monitors would be the most beneficial for a number of reasons. Heart rate monitors are a great way to give students a goal by providing their target heart rate zone and allows them to achieve that goal by easily monitoring their progress with the instant feedback provided by the watch. This will also assist me, as the instructor, in tracking the kids progress because all the data can be loaded onto the computer and analyzed. This will also help kids and their parents see their long term progress. Another benefit to the heart rate monitors is their versatility. This technology can be used during all types of aerobic activity so we can take advantage of the technology year round, not just for one specific unit which is why I think this new equipment would be an asset to the physical education program at this school.

  1. I definitely agree with you that heart rate monitors are a great investment. Yes they can be a rather expensive technology but they are useful in so many ways. That is why I also felt justified in spending $1,600 of my own imaginary budget on them.
