If I were given a $2000 budget to spend on equipment supplies, I would buy the following things. Firstly, I would purchase an Optoma – Pico Pocket DLP Projector Model: PK301 for $399.99. I would get this because being able to project information on a wall to the students will be very beneficial. Some students get a better understanding of material when it is taught with visual aid by the teacher and this is the best way to do that. It will prove much better than just handing out papers with the information.
The second thing I would by is a 64 G iPad for $599. The reason I would purchase this is to help myself quickly and easily record data. iPads have many useful applications for just about anything you could possibly need so the upside to using one in class is great. If formatted correctly I could record roll call, test scores, and individual student’s daily data on it helping making the transition between physical and electronical data.
After those two purchases, I’ve spent $998.99. Lastly, I would purchase 25 Polar FS1 Fitness Heart Rate Monitors with T31 Non-coded chest transmitter for $948.75. HRMs, I feel, are must haves in the physical education curriculum. They give the students valuable information about where they and where they need to be intensity wise during the class period. Being able to know their bodies better gives the students a much better chance of knowing how much effort to give in the future outside of the class, helping them lead to a much healthier lifestyle throughout their life. Totaling all those things together that makes $1947.74. Factoring in shipping, I will be unable to buy anything else.
