The idea of online physical education makes sense, but there is no way of knowing that the children will adhere to their physical activity routines or follow along with the daily class activities that are planned. Online physical education would also take away social skills for the children. I remember when I was younger, I always thought of P.E. as a fun class where I got to play games, have fun, learn new skills, and socialize with friends while being active. I think taking this away from kids would take away from a fun part of their childhood.
Also, I feel that physical education is very hands on and may need many demonstrations for different skills that are being taught. Sometimes videos are hard to copy off of or learn from and without the children being in a classroom setting, they would not have a teacher available to help if any problems arose.
I agree for the most part PE can not be totally online, with all the opportunities for distraction exercise will never be accomplished through a computer terminal...plus think about your computer at home or in a public place, these are the places students will have to acces in order to complete these classes. Even if they have the motivation to attempt all that is expected, these computer areas are not typically designed exercise in close proximity.
